In 2006 ALC paved the way for T&L to have significant representation at the EOC Career and Employment Expo Series 2006. Over 130,000 students and members of the public took the opportunity to meet with potential employers and education providers across a variety of industries and organisations.
The “Logistics Hub”, an initiative of the ALC, was an industry approach to the expos. With the commitment of major supporters such as Australian Shipowners Association, QR, Linfox, Department of Main Roads – WA, and TALC, and the further support of the Freight Councils, industry bodies, local organisations and TOLL Ipec – the official courier of the Logistics Hub, T&L had the strongest presence to date at a National event such as this.
Where the Logistics Hub was an open-plan display area with no dividing walls, we plan to work with EOC in 2007 to present a “Transport Corridor” where organisations can purchase space in their own right, in a designated row tagged the “Transport Corridor”.
To ensure we maintain a combined industry presence, ALC will take the following steps;
- The Fascia Signage will display the newly created ‘T&L’ logo, linking the company to the industry through branding,
- We will coordinate overhead signage to clearly mark the corridor,
- Similarly, we will utilise branded floor tiling to cover all angles; and
- With the assistance of local officers we will have a display space to include SME’s and the Freight Councils.
“Thank you” to everyone who participated and supported the ALC in this National endeavour this year. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you to continue to build the rate of recruitment and retainment in our exciting, sexy and vital industry!
