DAY ONE

South-East Queensland T&L Site Visit
Australia Trade Coast

ALC members and delegates to the 2007 Annual Forum are invited to attend a tour of South East Queensland’s Australia TradeCoast precinct. The General Manager, Wendy McMillan will address the tour describing how the integration of the Queensland Government, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Brisbane City Council and the Port of Brisbane Corporation, all work together to form a trade and industry hub providing an excellent competitive marketing advantage to Queensland both nationally and internationally.

Tour departs by bus at 1.00 pm. Delegates to meet at the Qantas luggage collection terminal at Brisbane Airport by 1.00pm (the tour will be signposted). At the completion of the tour - approx 1.5 hours - the bus will continue to SeaWorld Resort on the Gold Coast in time for delegates to check in and attend the cocktail reception which commences at 6.00pm

Delegates will be welcomed to the Presidential Room at SeaWorld Nara Resort to enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to catch up with peers from around the country. Mr Phil Reeves MP, Parliamentary Secretary to The Hon Paul Lucas MP, Minister for Transport and Main Roads will address delegates on the state of play in Queensland.

ALC action has had a dual focus on education/skills as well as careers attraction and retention. The decisions made at this Forum will have a direct impact on industry efforts to attract, retain and train people. They will also drive efforts to build the profile and understanding of T&L in the general community.

The value of ALC in driving development of Australian logistics has now clearly been proven. The challenge now is to work together and take activity to the next level.
3.15 - 4.15 pm The Future of T&L
Teams representing industry and government will take part in a frank and open debate on regulation and the future of the Australian T&L industry. Delegates pitch in with their views and comments in a uniquely interactive session.
