SEPTEMBER 2006
Chairman’s Update
The busy month of September rushed by as we realised that the three quarters of the year have gone. During the month presentations were made at the Australian Infrastructure Summit, the Australian Infrastructure Forum, the Infrastructure Investment Conference, and to visiting Chinese delegations. Significant work was undertaken by the Working Groups. One result of this will be the finalisation of the Retail Logistics Supply Chain Code of Conduct during October to be ready for the launching in Melbourne on 14 November. Further details will follow.
Hal was “allowed” the time to take annual leave overseas and will be returning the 16th October. In the meantime Jessica is “holding the fort” backed up by our new admin assistant Ruby.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the South Australian Freight Council for their assistance in preparations for our Decision Makers Dinner in Adelaide on 24th October. We look forward to positive discussions across the table with Minister Conlon.
I remind all ALC members that the next Council Meeting is in Perth on the 17th November in conjunction with the LAA/CILTA Supply Chain WA 2006 Conference- we hope you can join us there. I also remind members that the Annual Forum next year will be at Sea World on the Gold Coast. We already have some additional sponsors and exciting speakers to ensure a very worthwhile experience. Please note the date in your diary.
