Careers – Attraction and Retention Steering Group

The CWG met on Friday 9 February to cover off the following projects
Industry Branding Project

  • Discuss and review concepts submitted by EOC
  • Form a sub-committee to approve ongoing designs (3)

Careers Expos

  • ALC has purchased 3x3m display space at each Expo*; co-support now sought from Freight Councils/Local bodies in each location (*with the exception of 3 regional locations)
  • Letters have been sent to all ALC Members for involvement – follow up phone calls to be made
  • First Expo – Perth, Friday 30th & Saturday 31st March

Virtual Career Expos

  • First phase has been completed – submitting content to support design; phases 2 and 3 to occur with launch date set for March

CareerFAQ’s

  • Summarise the involvement of ALC in the T&L CareerFAQs booklet initiative
  • Sponsorship (10) is now to sought to ensure the publication of the book in 2007

Senate Inquiry update

  • ALC response submitted to John Carter; next phase face-to-face inquiries
  • ALC has been invited and will appear before inquiry

National DVD

  • FR8 contacted ALC about sponsorship money for a T&L DVD
  • SA DTEI has contacted ALC to see if we would like to be involved in taking their SA initiative forward
  • Next steps to pull all interested parties together to decide the way forward

MOU/Agreements with Recruitment agencies

  • As a result of collecting interest from the Careers Expos, a Memorandum of Understanding was prepared to enlist recruitment agencies to process enquiries
  • MOU will now also be signed with Recruitment agencies who want to list on our website
