Retail Logistics Code of Conduct
Promotional activities continued after public launch 14 November 2006 in Melbourne

  • Code has been signed by CEOs of Coles, Woolworths, Metcash, Linfox and Toll.
  • Audit arrangements are now finalised
  • Call for expressions of interest from auditors to be made early in February 2007
  • Assessment tool and audit guides have been drafted
  • Strong interest from other companies interested in signing on to the Code
  • Swires Cold Storage has signed the Code.
  • Ingilby Dickson is now leading the Code Management Committee.  Ingilby is VP Logistics Blue Scope Steel, chairs the ALC User group and is a member of the ALC Executive.

Leadership of Logistics

    • Dr Gary Saliba has followed up the first full day workshop with the Futures Working Group and interviews are well advanced
    • Working group met by teleconference on 11 December 2006
    • Future dates are
    • Working Group workshop in Melbourne 10am – 5pm, 2 February 2007
    • ALC Executive Workshop in SEQ 10am-1pm 15 February 2007
    • Key questions to be answered have now been identified. These are
    • What will be the new Transport and Logistics paradigm?
    • What impact will climate change have on Transport and Logistics?
    • What are the three key issues that will require, demand or force the Transport and Logistics Industry to work together in a collaborative way?
    • The outcomes of this work will be launched at the Smart Freight Logistics Conference in Sydney on 21 June 2007.

    Data Working Group

    • Apelbaum Consulting Group, through John Apelbaum has been appointed to complete the next stage of this project.
    • His progress report is ready for presentation to the 2007 Annual Forum on 16 February 2007
